In the Classroom & the News...

My school's GCSE art exhibition was held on 17th June, in the very classrooms that we had slaved away in for two years. It was so strange seeing my work pinned up on two wooden boards. It was almost hard to remember how much time I had put into all of it.
My year 10 topic had been 'Decadence & Decay', and for that, I had focussed on Roman decadence, and then their eventual decline. Although I didn't end up putting any of that up, as I liked my recent stuff more. This was because I began to trust my instincts and to go more into graphic design and illustration, rather than trying to use acrylic paints like my peers. That worked a lot better for me, as can be seen below in my Alice In Wonderland theme for 'Unusual and Dramatic Viewpoints'.
Finally, my exam topic was 'Order and Disorder'. For that, I went shopping! Next to my board of canvases, I had my faithful mannequin, Maddie, dressed in magazine cuttings. I even had a projector displaying the processes of my digital pieces.
It was long, and hard, but at the end of it all, I am so proud of all of my work, and even more proud that it ended up in the Borehamwood Times!
